Jane Daniels, Author of Walkable Westchester: "Writing a Hiking Book"

Writing a hiking book takes time, dedication, attention to details, and the ability to write. But the rewards of undertaking such a project are great. There are three types of hiking books. Come out and learn what these are and what is needed to produce each type of book. Jane is currently rewriting Walkable Westchester and will use this as a real-time example.

Jane and Walt Daniels have been volunteering for the Trail Conference since 1979. Over the years they have held many positions ranging from the shovel to the board room. In 2000, Walt suggested that they write a book about where to hike in Westchester County. Walkable Westchester's first edition came out in 2009, the second in 2014 and the third is due out in 2020.
