Park Description:
Occupying a pair of peninsulas jutting into Spruce Run Reservoir, the 2,000-acre park is typical of most of the day-use areas found in New Jersey's state parks and forests. A park office and visitor center awaits the visitor immediately upon entering the recreation area. Fifteen miles of shoreline around the third largest reservoir in the state offer ample recreational opportunities.
Trails Overview:
A 2.6 mile section of The Highlands Trail [teal diamond], the only marked trail in the park, takes hikers through a maple forest, a pine forest and along the water’s edge through the park before exiting into the Clinton Wildlife Management Area. In addition, the park grounds and roadways provide for hiking, strolling, jogging and biking activities.
