Silas Condict County Park

Park Overview:
There is activity for every member of the family in this beautiful Morris County Park with a picturesque 7-acre lake.
Park Description:
The park is named for Silas Condict (1738-1801), a farmer, surveyor, and politician. He was a member of the committee that drafted New Jersey’s first Constitution and also served as a member of the Continental Congress. He was elected to the New Jersey House of Assembly and served as its speaker in 1792-94 and again in 1797.
After the county acquired the first parcel of land in June 1953, the park was dedicated in September 1964 with 200 acres.
The “Casino” is an historic stone building on the site renovated to restore its Prohibition Era character. It can be rented for special events.
Seven-acre Canty's Lake provides ample opportunity for boating in the summer, ice skating in the winter and strolling around it anytime.
Trails Overview:
The park features a five-mile network of trails that connect several scenic overlooks, including a loop hike south of Canty's Lake on the White Trail (3 miles). Use the Web Map link on this site to locate trail map.
