The 589-acre Institute Woods - a nature reserve of mature woodlands and fields - is part of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, perhaps best known as the intellectual home of Albert Einstein. The Woods and the adjacent Rogers Refuge are considered one of the best places in New Jersey for observing the spring migration of warblers and other songbirds. Additional details
Trails Overview:
The Woods feature a network of about four miles of generally flat trails and cinder paths.
Hikers can go from the Institute Woods to the Princeton segment of the Delaware & Raritan Canal towpath by crossing an arm of the Stony Brook on stepping stones.
