Located in the central portion of the Farny Highlands, Farny State Park connects watershed lands and includes a segment of the 20-mile Four Birds Trail -- so named to symbolize the biological diversity encountered along the way.

Farny State Park

This forested wilderness connects watershed lands and is crossed by an old logging road. Streams, mixed oak-hardwood forest and swamps comprise the park. Trail entry is through the Farny Natural Area. Splitrock Reservoir is adjacent to the Farny State Park.

Orange Trail NE side of Split Rock Reservoir
The Orange Trail is currently under remedial trail work as well as blazing improvements.  We ask hikers be patient as we address this.  The Four Birds (White) Split Rock Loop (Blue) are perfectly fine to access Indian Cliffs.    Thank you for your patience.
August 21, 2015
Split Rock Road and Dam are open for traffic.
The repairs are complete and the road over the dam is now open.  They have added a traffic light at each end of the dam, makes it a lot easier to cross now.

Look for new trails in September 2012
During the month of September 2012, two new trails -- both without formal names as yet -- will be open outside of the Camp Winnebago area.
  • A yellow-blazed trail which will travel from the Timberbrook Trail to the Split Rock Reservoir.
  • A green-blazed loop trail which will form a connector from the new yellow-blazed trail, Four Birds Trail and the Red Trail
