Clearing Storm Debris from the Appalachian Trail
Body
Strong storms last summer and fall caused severe damage along the Appalachian Trail in Sussex County. Fallen trees made sections of the trail impassable and flood waters overturned bridges and boardwalks. Officials at the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference say there are dedicated volunteers that manage the trail, but repairs can get expensive. Environment reporter Ed Rodgers files this report from Vernon Township for NJToday.
